As some of you guys know, I am a huge mermaid fan and love doing mermaid art in my free time. I've been super busy with work (which has been amazing and I can't believe how lucky I am) and so my spare time has been largely devoted to mermaid-related goodness haha!
Anyway, here are the pieces I've done over the last few months.
Don't forget to click on the images to view larger versions!
Congrats if you made it through all of that art to the bottom of my post haha! I really need to be more on top of updating this site. I spend most of my time updating my mermaid sites (VancouverMermaid.com and MermaidSchool.ca) and so my poor little purple fox gets no love haha!
So over the last few weeks I've started playing Lioden again. I finally refunded those three players who had been waiting for art but I was unable to complete due to lack of time.
I did decide to do some personal art for my den of a few of my lions. I used to do so much TLK fan art when I was still in highschool and it's pretty fun to see how much I've improved over the years.
Anyway! I hope you are having a fabulous week!
So I've always wanted to have a store. Just a little place online for me to sell some of my art to help me save up for a new cintiq and other art-related things.
So my buddy Noodles (you remember her from one of my earlier posts) uses Redbubble too and highly recommended it to me one day so I thought I would give it a look-see.
See you next post!
So I finally got to see Zootopia as I mentioned in my previous post and I just had to do TweakFox up as a Zootopian since I was really inspired by my buddy Nik's version of her fox (Tynder) as a Zootopian. Too cool!
So this was my warm up painting for today. Nothing super fancy, but it gets the point across I think.
TweakFox doesn't have a natural fur colour version (yet) so I think she would probably stand out amongst all of those normal coloured animals, but heck, she loves to stand out so I guess it works haha!
Anyway! We are 3 days away from the A to Z Challenge BLAST OFF so I am getting pretty excited about that! I'm also still working on that piece I gave a teaser on in my last post. I have no idea how long that one's going to take since I'm being pretty picky with it so far hehe... We'll see.
Anyway! That's all she wrote for now!
Have a fabulous day!
So I figured it was time to put together a little reference sheet for Tweak since she's looked the same for a little while now and I don't see her changing any time soon.
I chose to do her slightly toon-ier than she typically looks, since that's how I draw her most often. I might have to do some other versions as well with her more realistic proportions and stuff like that.
I might do a proper turnaround one of these days, but for now this will do the trick! Finally figuring out what the heck her side profile looks like makes me happy.
Her hair is kind of like Mickey Mouse's ears...
Did it super fast because I was behind on it and had a billion other things on the go, but here is my pic for March. Yes it's another mermaid, but you know me, I like mermaids haha!
Did this over the span of a few days. Given the amount of time spent, I'm happy with it.
In other news I've almost finished all of my posts for the A to Z Challenge! I have three more to go and then I can relax! I just wanted to be 100% sure I wouldn't run into any roadblocks so I wouldn't end up missing any days and getting the boot.
I'm super looking forward to April!
So thanks to the loser who drove into us and put me out of commission for what felt like forever, I was not able to finish this in time for the actual 20th anniversary which also happened to be my Mum's birthday.
It feels like I've been working on this piece for a really long time, which technically I guess I have, but it's been in such short bursts that really if I added up all the hours, I'm sure it wasn't all that long. I'm just really annoyed that I couldn't post it on the actual day of. It would have been much cooler. Ah well. Such is life.
So the backstory... This is me, or what I imagine I would look like in the realm of Pokemon and the dragon is my Charizard named Charm. He was the very first Pokemon I ever got and every Charizard I've had since then has been named Charm with the exception of Rhaegal who I named after one of the dragons in Game of Thrones.
So yes, if you were wondering, I am a Pokemon nerd and collector. I have more merch than I would care to admit, but I can't help myself, I just love the company and I'm pretty sure I always will.
Happy Belated Birthday Pokemon!!
I've been having a lot of fun updating my blog lately, I think it's much more functional than any of the other versions of this site I've done so far. I really like that I can keep the site updated in a much more personal way now. Yep, it makes me happy.
There comes a time in every fox's life where you need to be drawn by your person wearing a ridiculous amount of armour. Yes.
I did this super fast during a doodle break and I love how she's all proud and her hair is blowing a bit in the wind haha!
Man I love sketching in pen and despite my sketchbook being right next to my notebook I felt the need to draw on lines hehe...
