So this will be my honest answer to one of the most commonly asked questions for any artist ever: How do you become an artist?
This is a pretty loaded question to be honest, but I will do my best to give the honest to Zeus truth.
There isn't a quick guide to becoming an artist. There is no "easy" button, no short-cut or magical path to awesome. But here are my tips to start heading in the right direction:
Of all of these, the most important piece of advice I can give you comes from a teacher of mine from back when I was in school and it goes something like this:
Don't draw for a day and you will notice a difference. Don't draw for two days and everyone will notice a difference.
This is just to emphasize the importance of drawing in your trusty sketchbook everyday. Just do it. Trust me, even if you feel like everything you draw that day is crap, just keep going. Power through and I promise you will come out the other side that much better.
As with anything in life, the things worth having are the things you have to work the hardest for.
So I hope this gave you a bit of an insight into how one goes about getting into art as a beginner and I hope you stick around for my next post!
